COATESVILLE >> Democratic candidate Chrissy Houlahan is listening and learning, while getting out and about, during a run for a seat in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Monday morning Houlahan visited the ChesPenn Health Services Center for Community Health in Coatesville.

The candidate received a tour from Tamara Fox, director of organizational development, who noted that the agency depends partly on federal funding.

Houlahan hopes to replace two-term 6th Congressional District Rep. Ryan Costello, a Republican, who opted to not seek re-election. Houlahan will face off against Republican candidate Greg McCauley in November.

Houlahan discussed her former career in the military and as a business owner.

Fox noted that the agency offers dental care, adult and pediatric care, including for diabetes, behavioral services and pre-natal care.

The agency, which many in the city are able to walk to, also draws blood and retains a full-time social worker and community health educator.
